The interwebs are abuzz with the news of Springfield Armory’s new “SAINT” series AR-15.

While the launch from Springfield Armory makes it seem they have re-invented the wheel, the new SAINT looks to be a nice modern AR interpretation with a plethora of accessories that shooters want in their AR platform.

First and foremost, we have the item I’m most excited to see – a Bravo Company furniture set, featuring their new PKMT two-piece polymer handguard – with meymod attachments. Besting Magpul’s MOE handguard setup that requires separate rails, the PKMT will accept accessories designed to use keymod attachment points (though you can use rails too, if you want.)

Other highlights are a melonite-finished 1:8 twist 16″ chrome moly vanadium barrel, rugged A2-style fixed tower front sight, a micro-polished trigger for a smooth pull, and Springfield Armory flip-up rear sight. The SAINT appears to have everything you’d need in an AR platform – a winner right out of the gates…I’m looking forward to trying one as soon as they hit the shelves.
