A 911 call alerted police that there was trouble; a homeowner called the emergency line when he heard his front door being forced open. Started by the sudden entry of Williams, police say the homeowner armed himself with a handgun and open fire on the intruder, hitting Williams several times. The homeowner, 27, then retreated out of a second story window.
Once authorities arrived, Williams was transported to a local hospital, where police report he did of his gunshot injuries.
Williams was not known to the resident of the home he broke into, and the incident is still under investigation.
